BIOGRAPHY

KAY ALLEYNE-

One of the most prolific and sensational song stylist to ever grace the stage, local or foreign, was born into a religiously musical family on the 9th of December, 1981, whom at a very early age recognized her budding talents and inspired her to develop her gift of song from the tender age of "five". With such a scintillating voice and her early ability to re-interpret the delivery of Gospel music, she has mesmerized many seasoned veterans in music fraternity.

OUTLOOK-

Kay Alleyne is blazing a trail in becoming the next "Queen of Soul" as her idol Aretha Franklin, but yet has stayed grounded in roots as the soulful gospel Diva, Pastor Shirley Caesar. She is one of the National Treasures of Trinidad and Tobago and is fast becoming an International shining star and a legend in her own time.

ACHIEVEMENTS-

Her first big break came as a result of capturing the Second Place Award in the National Music Festival of Trinidad and Tobago Gospel category in 1996. Then going onto capture the overall Championship Award for "Best Junior Vocalist" and "Most Outstanding Vocalist" in1999, where she retained the title as Champion until 2002. She has shared the stage with such International Greats as the Grammy award-winning vocalist, Yolanda Adams in 2000. In 2004, she went on to share the stage with Grammy winning vocalists such as Boyz II Men and Melba Moore. Also in 2004, she was the opening performer for the Gourmet Jazz Festival on a program which featured the likes of Natalie Cole, Kenneth “Baby Face" Edmonds, Stevie Wonder, The O"Jays and many more, which took place in Plymouth, Tobago. In 2005, she was the winner of the National Full Gospel Festival on the same night that she was scheduled to share the stage with Freddie Jackson and The Temptations. In 2006, she shared the stage with such legends as Harold Melvin and The Bluenotes, Regina Belle, Atlantic Starr, and Maxi Priest at the Greatest Love Mother's Day Concert in Port of Spain, Trinidad. The year 2006  has been her most outstanding and memorable year, as she went to the World Championship of Performing Arts in Hollywood, California, and returned victoriously to her home after capturing two (2) Gold Medals, two (2) Champion of the World Awards, and an Overall Industry Award. Also in 2006, she gracefully took to the stage for Carifesta IX as a Solo artiste and then with her live band “Flayme Unlimited” to put more accolades under her belt.
